Your Sutton Neighbourhood Teams have been working hard to address the issues that matter most to you. We’ve been listening closely to concerns raised by our communities and partners, and we’re focused on taking positive action to tackle those priorities. From addressing anti-social behaviour, to increasing high-visibility patrols and engaging with residents, we remain committed to delivering for Sutton. Here’s a snapshot of some of the work your teams have carried out during June: E-bikes and vehicle crime: We know this is a key concern locally. We carried out Operation Lexand, targeting powered two-wheeled vehicle offences, alongside specialist units. This was our second deployment in two months. Several vehicles were stopped and checked, two stolen vehicles were recovered, and three individuals were arrested.Speeding: We understand speeding is an issue in parts of the borough. Our North Cluster teams conducted a speed enforcement operation targeting drivers putting others at risk. The operation moved locations regularly after being identified and shared on navigation apps.Retail crime: We know the impact this has on businesses and shoppers. Working with specialist officers, we carried out a borough-wide operation supporting the venues most affected. This resulted in increased visibility, engagement, and one arrest.Further retail crime action: Our officers also executed a warrant where a significant amount of suspected stolen property was recovered and several individuals were arrested.Robbery and community safety: We know feeling safe while out and about is important. We’ve carried out targeted robbery patrols, using data to focus on key areas. This has contributed to a significant reduction in robbery over a four-week period. We’ve also increased patrols in parks and early mornings to provide reassurance for those travelling to work and school.ASB at transport hubs: We recognise concerns around anti-social behaviour at bus stops. Officers have been conducting focused patrols at transport hubs to keep you safe while travelling. There is much more happening behind the scenes, and our teams will continue to do everything they can for you and for Sutton. We will keep working alongside our communities, local authorities, and partner agencies to deliver meaningful results.
